Niraj,

Unforunately, I don't know of any SOA books that discuss the topic from this angle.

Thanks Udi. While I try for that do you have any other recommended readings (books for instance) on SOA?

There are options for companies to have me mentor their people, so, yes.

Have I missed the part about business activity monitoring? This is a part I'm particularly interested in.

Could you be so kind to dedicate a post on that :)?

Hi Udi,

Thanks for the presentation, I really enjoyed it. I was wondering what you think about distributed transactions involving multiple services. If I got the point of your talk, there's should never be any...or, in other words, if we discover we really need them, then it means we got the service boundaries wrong. Is that correct?

thanks again

Artur,

Glad you liked it.
To your questions:

Just like multiple services can use .NET, SQL Server, NHibernate, etc - they can use common components for authentication and authorization. The component isn't duplicated, it's just run in more than one place.

In terms of DDD, the bounded context is the closest thing to the services I described in SOA.

Hope that helps,

Hi Udi,
Thank you for a great presentation !
I have two questions for you,

How do u handle situations when you really have to have common data\Entities (maybe logic) for services… special case could be security (authentication, authorization) … for more than one service?
(I see two ways: share common objects that will break autonomy as I understand or duplicate them that is not a good answer to the problem)

How DDD and SOA fit together from your perspective? If you have combined the approaches together then how do you start the SOA&DDD project from architecture, design/modeling perspective?

Thank you!
